swan lake

As this fog seems to be a semi-permanent fixture at the moment, I thought I'd take advantage of it & take some photos of the local lakes. I got there 40 mins before the gates were due to shut, so I didn't have much time. Fortunately, the swans played ball & gave me this shot before I had to rush back to the car.

Lovely image, love the composition and the color combination blue, brown and white. The moving really makes this image come alive, and don't forget those circles in the water, they are important too here.

The movement is unusual for this type of composition, but it really does add something. Terrific exposure as well - the whiteness of swans normally gives me no end of trouble.

Thanks for all the comments! This is certainly one of my favourite shots of 2006. Simon, in this case they are both juvenile swans so haven't got their full white plumage yet, so that helps a lot!!
